Ph.D. candidate Min-Seok Kang wins Grand Prize in the Radio Wave Field Student Paper Competition
Ph.D. candidate Min-Seok Kang (advisor: Prof. Kyung-Tae Kim) won the Grand Prize (Korea Communications Agency President's Award) at the 16th Radio Wave Field Student Paper Competition, jointly hosted by the Korea Communications Agency and KIEES, for his research on improving satellite SAR system performance through antenna beam pattern optimization.

Ph.D. candidate Min-Seok Kang named MVP of the EE Department Sports Festival
Min-Seok Kang was named MVP of the 2017 EE Department Sports Festival, contributing to the department's overall win with a game-winning basketball shot, a hat-trick in soccer, and first place in foot-wrestling (baljjissireum).

Ph.D. candidates Byung-Soo Kang and Bo-Hyun Yoo (advisor: Prof. Kyung-Tae Kim), together with Jun-Ho Park and Doo-Seok Choi (advisor: Prof. Won-Bin Hong), won Best Student Paper at the 2017 16th International Symposium on Microwave and Optical Technology (ISMOT), co-hosted by KIEES and the University of Nevada.

M.S. student Myung-Jun Lee and Ph.D. candidate Seung-Jae Lee (advisor: Prof. Kyung-Tae Kim) received the Excellence Paper Award from the IEEE EMC Korea Chapter at KIEES's 2016 general conference, for their paper "A Comparison of GMTI Performance Using DPCA for Various Clutters."

Ph.D. candidates In-Oh Choi and Byung-Soo Kang win Excellence Award in the Radio Wave Field Student Paper Competition
Ph.D. candidates In-Oh Choi and Byung-Soo Kang (advisor: Prof. Kyung-Tae Kim) won the Excellence Award at the 2015 Radio Wave Field Student Paper Competition, jointly hosted by KIEES and the Korea Communications Agency, for their work on discriminating decoys from warheads in missile defense systems using the micro-Doppler frequency function of sliding scatterers.

IRAS lab wins Grand Prize at the 13th (2014) Radio Wave Field Student Paper Competition
POSTECH EE graduate students Seong-Hyun Lee and Min-Seok Kang (advisor: Prof. Kyung-Tae Kim) won the Grand Prize at the 2014 Radio Wave Field Student Paper Competition, jointly hosted by KIEES and the Korea Communications Agency, for real-time synthesis of the frequency spectrum in stepped-chirp planar array antennas.
